RIDING AND TRAINING PROGRAM

RIDING:

I ride 6 days a week. I prefer to give the horses at least one day off to reward them for their hard work. Within those 6 days I ride between 2-4 horses a day. Now these horses aren’t all show/top of the line horses. Honestly most of them are school horses for our lesson program. However I still can work on myself and keep fit. Most days are consisted of flat work, occasionally I will set up some gymnastics or pole work to keep them entertained/mentally busy.

Training Program:

At the current moment, my training program consist of mostly myself with an occasional lesson from past trainers who will come and help me. At first I thought it would be easy and fun but I learned fairly quickly that I have to push myself to do more. Through this method, I am able to see what my horse or I are lacking focus on and adjust my weekly schedule accordingly. Additionally this has taught me the importance of flat work. Without flat work, how will you be able to open and close your horses stride when needed or if you asked to demonstrate a shoulder in or counter canter. At times my training can be mentally tough but thankfully I have my family and friends behind me guiding and pushing me to do bigger and better things.
